My main research areas include emotion, meaning, and culture. Within emotion research, I’m particularly interested in how emotion expressions (e.g., nonverbal pride) influence others and what function they serve. Within meaning research, I’m interested in what happens when people are confronted with non-sensical experiences. Within culture research, I’m interested in how various cultural factors influence how we make sense of the world, such as science skepticism.
